Today, 'added value' is one of the most frequently used terms in various fields of activity and social environments. In European documents and in developed countries, design is recognised as a profession which may substantially add value to an economy. In Slovenia, too, we should have more connections which would contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of products and the faster development of Slovenian companies. One of the objectives of the EU's Creative Cities
project, carried out by Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban region and Institute for Economic Research, is to establish connections between companies and designers, and then create a social network and a business chain operating within the framework of the Creative Industries Centre.
The keynote lecturers will be distinguished guests from the field of design, Jure Miklavc
from Slovenia and Ilkka Suppanen
from Finland, who will share their experience of collaboration with manufacturing entreprises. At the round table following the lectures, they will be joined by renowned Slovene experts Miloš Ebner
(Trimo), Jernej Repovž
(SMJWT), Saša J. Maechtig
(ALUO), Jure Miklavc
(Studio Miklavc) and Andreja Jenko
(Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Affairs). Free entrance.
The event will take place on Thursday, 10 November 2011, from 10 a.m to 2 p.m, in the Urška Hall.
