The fairs officially open, the awards of the 31st Ambient Ljubljana Fair presented

Today we have opened the 31^stAmbient Ljubljana Fair – the furniture and interior design fair and the 5^th Dom Plus Fair presenting joinery, heating and cooling technology, and prefabricated houses, at the GR - Ljubljana Exhibiiton and  Convention Centre. The fairs were opened by Matjaž Han, Minister of Economic Development and Technology. At the event, we also presented awards and certificates for the to design excellence of this year's Ambient Ljubljana Fair. The highest award – Top of the Top – was presented to the BORA Holding Company for the XBO oven.

»After a two-year break due to the Coronavirus and the last year's unfortunate fair, which was cancelled by the Decree of the previous Government of the Republic of Slovenia, while assembly was already underway, the Ambient Ljubljana Fair and the Dom Plus Fair are back. At the forefront of this year's fair are furnishing, home construction and design solutions, as well as, specially this year, the efficient energy solutions. From today until the Sunday, more than 200 companies from 18 countries will be present at the fair.« said Iztok Bricl, MSc Economics, Director of  GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS of the 31^st Ambient Ljubljana Fair

Top of the top – Ambient Ljubljana Award for excellence in the field of design. The expert commission consisting of Vladimir Pezdirc, Jani Bavčer and Klemen Smrtnik chose:

·        the BORA Holding Company, for the XBO oven

The commission argument: The designer followed the guidelines of less is more and thereby highlighted an extraordinary user experience.

Top ideas - design exchange - four awards for the most daring and fresh ideas at this year's 11^thTop Ideas, exchange and exhibition of imaginative, innovative and creative design solutions by young, prospective architects and designers the commission consisting of – Janez Mesarič, Dejan Kos and Kaja Strle:

·          The ZEVNIK LAB, for the  3D concrete print

The commission argument:Reinterpreting concrete as a material using modern technologies and innovative applications.

·          JAN MIHELIČ – the IronxWood, for the table of the future  

The commission argument: The symbiosis of sharp and oval lines and the precision of the product.

·          ADDiD PLUS, for the Step Footstool

The commission argument: A multifunctional wooden product that combines the functions of a coffee table and a footstool.

·        The certificateThe Best Top Idea has been presented to SARA KRESAL, for the  Vacanze coffee table

The commission argument: The minimalist approach and refined lines give the product a timeless look and the possibility of placement in different types of interior.

Designers Society’s of Slovenia  certificates - the commission consisting of: president Mateja Panter, Anka Štular and Julijan Krapež decided that the certificate will be awarded this year to:

Commission argument: for more than 30 years, the company Rujz Design has been manufacturing furniture handles and decorative hardware, that interior designers regularly apply in their furniture projects. It represents the concept of high-quality; useful and aesthetic modern products that are loved by  project architects and designers, contractors, carpenters and, of course, end users.
